some more tiny canvases happened at work while I was basically just sitting around talking and painting with the occasional preteen. Ahaha I’m the best employee XD

also happy (day early?) lunar/chinese new year!

I was asked to prepare a demo for tomorrow with the random extra supplies we had for store use and I found these tinY CANVASES THEY ARE SO TINY OMGGGG THE CUTENESS that we had leftover from the canvas ornament demo we did during the holiday season

basically I’m just going to be sitting around for 2hrs harassing customers into doing tiny paintings with me.

finished up the 2 day late hourlies! That… weren’t quite hourly…. shhhhhh

fun fact: i whipped these up by putting india ink in a niji waterbrush in tiny little 3x3”(ish) squares(in that they’re vaguely … four…sided…), and while it made for some nice quick linework… but I think it cemented in the fact that I’m not so awesome with brushes and should go back to the good ol’ standard felt tip pens. Yay learning!

Apparently hourly comic day (when comic peeps draw their day out in hourly segments) was on friday, alas I didn’t realize until that evening while checking my twitter during my break at work. Since I was working an 8 hour shift on Saturday as well I thought today (sunday) would be a much better day to play catch up because FREAKIN A’ I AM DETERMINED TO DO IT THIS YEAR AFTER SEEING SO MANY OF MY FAV ARTISTS DO IT YEAR AFTER YEAR

*cough* Anyways, here is the first little hunk of them. They’re all just quick tiny ink sketches scanned in via camera phone

My store had these little guys on super clearance right after the holidays and I thought it’d be the perfect time to actually try my hand at painting a munny doll. I still can’t figure out what they designed the Kracka to be. Is it a hippo? Crocodile? What’s with the cat ears? Why did I decide to use acrylics when I know I’m just going to frustrate myself by trying to get them to act like oils?

The world will never know. or maybe it will, heck I’m not psychic

Happy new year! Hello to my new followers! I’d love to hear how you happened across this little tumblr considering how insanely quiet it seems to be 90% of the time.

Speaking of which, I’m going to be trying to post more this year so feel free to send me a message if this place seems too quiet for you.

As a start, because starting with something random is better then never starting at all, here’s the brush and ink test I did this evening…. which unfortunately resulted in me mangling a few brushes and learning that the ink I used for calligraphy awhile back had indeed mostly dried up. Alas! That’s what tests are for! (and they were cheap craft brushes, so really I wasn’t expecting much) hey maybe getting a brush actually meant to handle ink might you know…be smart or something

tl;dr here’s to hoping the new year will be a bit more productive :D
